👉 A new therapeutic target for prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer's metabolic activities are closely tied to androgen receptors 🔎 A recent study from Dr. Étienne Audet-Walsh at Université Laval, in collaboration with Dr. Martin Pelletier, focuses on IDH1, a pivotal enzyme that governs cellular metabolism and is regulated by androgen receptors 💥

They found that in prostate cancer, IDH1 participates in energy production, and that when it is inhibited, proliferation of prostate cancer cells decreased 📉

This promising study reminds us of the importance of metabolism in pathological conditions. Metabolic disturbances have also been well explored in autoimmune diseases as well, and must continue to be! 🌟
