ARThrite Awards

The ARThrite research center has several prizes and honors to award its students' achievements.

This prize is awarded to students, postdocs or residents affiliated to the ARThrite research center that had a manuscript published in a peer-reviewed journal, and archived on PubMed.

Amount: 500$

Admissibility criteria

  • Two or more authors are researchers affiliated to ARThrite
  • The ARThrite research center must be acknowledged
  • The student is first or co-first author
  • May be claimed up to 2 years after graduating
  • The application must include:
    • A 300-word text depicting the impact of the study on the current knowledge on rheumatic diseases
    • The publication or the accepted version of the manuscript (in this case, include the acceptation letter)
    • Two 250 character (spaces included) lay summaries, in French and/or English for external communication purposes

A committee composed of researchers from the ARThrite Center will award this prize to a student, postdoctoral fellow, or resident of the Center who has distinguished themselves through their involvement within the ARThrite Center.

Prize amount: $300

Examples of involvement (non-exhaustive list):

  • Presented their results during a Zoom ARThrite session
  • Participated in the organization of Zoom ARThrite sessions (preparing for the speaker's arrival, welcoming, co-chairing the presentation, technical organization of the presentation)
  • Regularly attended Zoom ARThrite sessions and actively participated by asking relevant questions
  • Participated in the organization of ARThrite activities: Researcher for a Day, Annual Day, website updates, student committee

Candidates must submit a cover letter of no more than one page describing their involvement over the past 12 months.

This prize is awarded to students, postdocs, or residents affiliated to the ARThrite research center for presenting his/her data to a congress about arthritis and/or rheumatic diseases. The event may be provincial, national, or international. The presentation may either be oral or a poster.

Amount: 300$ - 500$ - at the discretion of the Board, after evaluating each application by the end of the fiscal year.

Admissibility criteria

  • The student is the first author of the abstract
  • The ARThrite research center must be acknowledged
  • The application must include:
    • The abstract submitted and accepted for presentation at the event
    • Mention of the type of presentation
    • Miscellaneous information about the event (e.g., name, location)
  • This prize can only be awarded once every year to a student
